WHAT WE DO
Beechworth Heritage works to identify cultural assets in our plateau communities’ natural and built environments, including landscapes, sites, buildings and objects.
We advocate the preservation and promotion of these assets as significant, defining features of our communities' cultural heritage and keys to national awareness of their contribution from the colonial era to the economic and social fabric of the state and nation.
We work to ensure these assets are protected, maintained and interpreted for future generations. We encourage awareness and recognition of their continuing value in our communities and beyond.
Our Society is an incorporated not-for-profit association in Victoria and an affiliate of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria Incorporated. We also support the work of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). We maintain a participant safety and wellbeing policy for all who attend our events and volunteer with us.
